Not heating above 80'c

Hello,
I just bought an MHP50-B5. When I connect it to a 10A supply at 24V, and put it into heat mode, it heats up but only gets as far as just over 80'c.
I increased the amount of power it can draw in the settings menu to 150W but it made no difference.
No warnings are being displayed - the unit just never gets any hotter.
I used an IR temp measurement device and the hot plate is about 10'c warmer than what the display says.
Can you help - is the unit defective or am I doing something wrong?
