Good evening dear Miniware developers,
I have to say:
I am very disappointed with the recent development of firmware for the ES15.
It's such an outstanding device, but unfortunately some essential parts of the firmware are very poorly implemented.
1. The way the button lock-function has been implemented is very inconvenient.
I. The OLED still turns on and unnecessarily prematurely ages while the battery is drained (Even if only slightly)!
II. You have to press the corresponding button 6 times to activate the implemented lock-function and 4 times to deactivate it.
A more user friendly or convenient way to implement the locking-feature would be:
1. To lock the device, hold down the set-button and press the side-button almost simultaneously with the set-button.
Enabling the battery-M option would also lock the buttons.
However, locking the buttons would not necessarily activate the battery-M option!
2. To unlock, press the set-button once to wake up the device and again with a long press.
Unlocking the device would also disable the battery-M option.
The side-button should basically have no function when lock-mode is active.
2. The battery icon is not informative enough.
This could be solved by replacing the symbol with the actual value in percent, like 50%.
3. The impact function is much appreciated, but unfortunately there is a deficiency regarding the counter-clockwise / unscrewing direction:
If a screw is too tight to loosen, the impact function kicks in but unfortunately stops and the unscrewing process has to be repeated to finally get the screw out.
Please change this so that the screwdriver keeps turning (only for the counter-clockwise / unscrewing direction), when the impact function is activated.
Means:
If the resistance decreases when unscrewing, the impact function should stop and the screwdriver should continue to unscrew the screw without impact.
In a clockwise direction, however, the current behavior should be retained.
4. For the sensitivity settings:
Please
I. either replace the current 'L-values' with the 'M-values' and replace the current 'M-values' with the old 'H-values', with even higher resolution (if possible), but in any case with the same rotation angle,
or
II. rename the current H-option and insert the old H-option between the current H-option and the M-option.
5. Perhaps an alternative way of switching the LEDs could be implemented as well.
Since the ES15 comes with a gyro, it would be nice to be able to toggle the LEDs by holding the set-button and shaking the device.
thanks in advance
kind regards
