I noticed today that my iron did not go into sleep mode. The only thing that was different to other times when it did work, I had the iron hanging over the side of a work bench with the tip pointing vertically downwards. I have repeated this test several times and it consistently refuses to go into sleep mode, whereas any other positioning is OK.
Looks like there is a bug in the "no movement detection" under certain conditions. Perhaps a few others might verify this condition.

Edit. 8/12/15
My firmware version is 2.10
Further investigation seems to suggest that, if the iron is within about 5-10 degrees from the vertical, it does NOT go into sleep mode.
