MHP50 and USB PD Power issues

I recently picked up the MHP50 from Adafruit. It wasn't able to get very hot, I assume because my USB-C charger doesn't support the higher voltages. So I picked up a USB-C charger from my local BestBuy that supports 5V@3A, 9V@3A, 15V@3A, 20V@5A and 28V@5A. Unfortunately the hot plate doesn't even power up with this charger. I'm assuming that means there's a glitch in the USB-C power negotiation . So I went looking for a firmware update.


I see it's loaded with the 1.02 firmware, which oddly isn't even mentioned on the manufacture website.

Is there a firmware update that supports a wider range of USB-C charger negotiations?

MHP50 supports standard PD protocol power supply. Please do not use charging heads with modified protocols from third-party manufacturers. The following charging heads have been tested to drive MHP50.

As far as I know the BestBuy power supply is standard, unmodified and widely sold.
That power supply list is very short, are you supporting the standard charging negotiation protocols? Perhaps there's a firmware update to do so?

That's a very short list.

The Apple A2244 is only 9VDC and 20 watt. That doesn't seem useful for heating.

Could we get a firmware update to support higher wattage options from more USB-C PD supplies?

Sorry, it's an Apple A2452 140W charging head.
We are also trying to upgrade the software to improve PD compatibility, please wait.
