MDP-P906 turns on and instantly off when powered via USB-C PD

Hej,


I have two MDP-P906 which are working very well on differnt USB-C PD power supplies but not on the "HSSNS USB-C 570W" (https://amzn.eu/d/0dBUtaUD) device I purchased recently.
The MDP-P906 turns on flickers shortly and turns off again. I see the same behaviour on all the USB-C ports on the "HSSNS USB-C 570W" for both MDP-P906 I own.

I updated all devices to the latest firmware because it stated "Improve the compatibility of P906 with the power supply head with PD protocol" (MDP-P906: v1.33, MDP-M01: v2.02) but unfortunately it didn't solve the issue.

The "HSSNS USB-C 570W" is otherwise working fine - no problem with other devices like laptops, mobile phones, USB-PD Decoy, ...
Do you think there is a chance to fix the firmware to "make it work"?

Could it be that it's not supported when PPS, programmable power supply, is supported.  I have a 3 ...

We will test this issue and continue to improve the compatibility of P906 through software upgrades.

It is recommended to use a power supply with standard PD protocol for power supply.
For example:
Beisi Gallium Nitride GaN5Pro
Green Alliance CD289
AohiAOC-C012
AppleA2244

Or only C1 C2 can't power on?

Thanks for the quick answer - I tested it on all ports:
The only port that works is C5 (the one marked 30 W).

C1, C2 (140 W) -> Not working
C3, C4 (100 W) -> Not working
C5 (30 W) -> working

I even tried different cables that I had tested with other USB-C power supplies and they worked fine with the MDP-P906 - so I would rule out the cables being faulty.

I just noticed something on the TS80P solder iron (IronOS V2.22).
The TS80P powers on but only negotiates QC and 5 Volt on Port C1 and C2.
On C3, C4 and C5 it negotiates PD with 12 Volt

TS80P on "HSSNS USB-C 570W":
C1, C2 -> QC + 5 V
C3, C4, C5 -> PD + 12 V

According to your description, it should be a compatibility issue. I will look for detailed information about this PD power supply, such as what protocol chip it uses, and then evaluate whether it can be made compatible with this power supply through software upgrades.

hello. same problem I had on Xiaomi PD 67w charger and UGREEN PB720 PD 100w power bank.

it will work fine with QC 3.0 charger and PD 20w power bank.

also all power banks and charger works fine if I use PD 20v trigger, by powering p906 from DC port

Xiaomi PD 67w charge is a charger with modified PD protocol, MDP-P906 does not support it now。
