New TS100 reboots and gives erratic temperature readings

I just received a TS100. It powers on but when I press the first button to heat up, it reboots back to the startup screen and the tip never gets hot.
If I press the second button to take a temperature reading the numbers jump around from 30c to 300c and everything in between.

Is it broken or is there anything I can do to get it working?

What power adapter do you use?
Must be above 12V 1.5A
Recommended using 19V 2A
